The second independent 10 MW biomass boiler house has been built in Kaunas; in this boiler house the heat, which is produced from renewable energy resources, will be supplied to Kaunas district heating network. About 5 % of heat used in Kaunas integrated network will be produced in this new boiler house.

Following successfully finished the construction of the new 10 MW biomass boiler house and scale tests of boiler house systems by UAB „Naujoji šiluma“ on 29 April 2013, the State commission of the completion of construction provided the Building completion certificate confirming that the building is built in compliance of solutions of the Project of construction.
